14 went thru tests right to the end if you read, 15 only half way through

"In the drop test, while the 14 Pro remained in almost perfect condition until the very end, the 15 Pro glass began to shatter about halfway through with spiderweb cracks appearing in the corners first. Successive drops caused increasing degrees of damage to the 15 Pro glass, on the back and front. Eventually, the bottom half of the iPhone 15 Pro display failed entirely (showing only white pixels) and the rear camera module detached altogether from the chassis."

Sounds like you’re putting a lot of faith into an unscientific test with no controls.

“First iPhone 15 Pro drop test suggests new rounded edge titanium design is less durable”

Yeah, somehow I was expecting that, had to hold my tongue when people were raving about the Titanium bands surely making the phone more robust.

You can't put any stock into a single sample random impact drop test. Of course the 15 Pro got worse with each successive drop...after the first shatter, the integrity is compromised. Thing is, that first shatter is often VERY luck dependent, with major differences in survivability depending on the exact angle and point of impact, and the surface of impact (this looks to not be uniform flat concrete, but textured, so one mm to the next can make a huge difference in energy transfer to the phone). You need a MUCH larger sample size for random drops like this (like 20-30 phones minimum), or you need multiple samples dropped in well controlled uniform conditions. This is neither of those.

Completely predictable when you go back to rounded glass that no longer sits flush with the rails. Also telling that Apple didn't mention it being the most durable iphone ever. I feel like they said this with the 12-14 series.

You should read on vehicle forums people going nuts over things like Gorilla Glass windshields. "I've had my X for 3 days and there is a crack. My regular windshield lasted 3 years with no chips or cracks. Gorilla Glass is worse than regular glass..."

It's on anything. People think one instance of anecdotal evidence = proof of widespread quality. You'll see it here, when someone inevitably scratches their screen, and proclaims that whatever ceramic shield they're using on the 15s is obviously worse than what was used on the 13, since they never scratched their 13, but scratched their 15 on day 2!

Ummmm I don't have much to say about these drop tests and what not. The majority of the world puts a phone on a case or don't care about a drop test. Remember these forums don't even account to the 1% of the iphone world users. Enjoy your phones people. Tomorrow is never promised.

as someone who does drop it sometimes...I look at them for sure as I have a case but its not like a rugged case and even with the 12 Im thankful each time I see no damage...I will wait for the beta to be in full release for next year to improve these findings as no question Apple is watching feedback too.

In the middle of several books.

Not a good idea to allow YouTube revenue whores to influence what you buy or don't buy, especially with drop test videos. What you linked to is about making money for the YouTube creators and nothing more.

Sorry, not sorry! 😂 Tough luck Apple... watch me streaking all over the place.
oh it makes apple happy as can be...this way you have to keep buying a new phone, why do you think they have very limited cases and not good ones for drop impact on site lol
