The lowend iMac with 2400 is slower than the MBP.
The ones with 2600 is about par with MBP:

Unless you go for the 8800M GTS in the iMac, which floors the current MBP card, and, lolz, yes, will floor the next MBPs too if they come with the 9600M GT.
