Better Performance in GrayScale?

I have had my Sport in grayscale for a day or so and it seems to be preforming much better with 3rd party apps and battery life.....anyone else tried that as well?
 
It may seem so, the bottleneck is the wirless communication speed with the phone. I doubt it is actually any faster.
