I use safari with ebay. what specifically are you not able to do?

Sorry it took me a while to respond. I have tried Camino (great software) but it does not solve my problem. When editing auctions, it shows my auctions in the html code (Caminoi and Safari do the same thing), while Firefox lets me edit my auctions right then and there without having to translate the html code.
I am not very familiar with technical terms, I am sure I am confusing a lot of people, but I need a browser that will let me edit my auctions without having to work with the html code.

Thanks for all the help

Camino is free to download, so go ahead and give it a try if you're curious. Doesn't hurt.

I prefer Camino because I like the look of it, and it seems to not take up as many of my computer's resources as Safari. It also "feels" faster to me.

I'm a Camino person too. I was happy as a clam when they updated to 1.5 this week.

This is odd, because Camino runs the same rendering engine as Firefox, so website functionality should be identical. Could you show us some screenshots?

some website will check your browser's UA, in which case, camino will not display same as firefox, altho it has same capability. typical example is www.msnbc.com in camino, there is no dynamic menus.

Really? I'd be interested in knowing what's in the works if you don't mind sharing? :)

Some of the things I asked about are:
1. A foxmarks like action for Camino which according to the devs is in the works.
2. Drag-able tabs which the devs said it should be in the next update!!
3. Something like Download Statusbar instead of the window.

If you want to lok at the thread I started at th eCamino forums it is here

Interesting. I did some additional looking around their wiki and found some notes on what's intended for 1.6.

Also this particular project, Tabpose, is something I'm looking forward to, even if Shiira 2 already has something like it. Development has already begun on it, and the below image is a mockup found on the site linked.

Now this i find REALLY, REALLY annoying. I have installed the User Agents preference pane and when i switch that to Firefox 2.0 everything on the msnbc site works the same as in firefox.

This is annoying and is there any specific reason it is done??

Argh...when I used to use FF as my backup browser (for websites incompatible with Safari) I much preferred Safari...now Camino is my backup browser and I'm torn (Inquisitor is a massive bonus of Safari). This will make the choice harder.

the new netscape navigator is AWESOME! it's firefox with a pretty interface and cool tools.

would you be willing to go into more detail?

with camino is it possible to highlight a word and ctrl click and search from there with google as it is with safari, firefox etc?

No, but you can highlight it and drag it to the search box in the toolbar and it will search google just fine. It is one "extra" step but it is nearly as easy.

And frankly, the new netscape is a cheap rip if you ask me. It is, for all intents and purposes, firefox!! It supports all the add-ons, themes, and everything because it is firefox with what amounts to a theme from netscape, and a few "plugins" written by them. Not to mention it runs just as slow on my G4 and G5 as firefox does!!

My suggestion is to try Camino and then get the User Agent plugin for it. If a site does not deside to play nice just go into preferences and switch to firefox, safari, etc and refresh the page. Also, on that site there are a lot of great add-on's to camino

officially the reason is to make sure that the website will not break in "non-compatible" browsers.

but i think we are pretty much over the dark age techs.

Camino would be my 1st choice....then Opera/Shira are both fine 4th choices.

I use Safari my on desktop, but FF on my laptop. I like the both, but now Safari feels more natural to me. I'm a HUGE fan of FF because its a great multiplatform browser, basicly every OS can run it.

Also I've used Camino from time to time as my main browser.
