The iBook is definitely stronger, I've dropped mine from a decent height and done no damage where a PowerBook's soft aluminium case would be dented. The iBook scratches, the PB dents.

Of course the ibook is stronger. I think they are even bullet proof. I was making the point that the powerbook is better "built"- as in tighter tolerances, same stuff in a smaller package, etc...

Not that being better "built" is always a good thing. The denting is a problem. Mine has a couple. I was just throwing in another "factor" for the thread starter to look at in making his decision. In no way was I saying one is better than the other.

I will however, go out on a limb and say DO NOT get the 14 ibook. The screen resoltuion is way too low.
