I'm using BTT to show Mission Control desktop preview which is missing in El Capitan. I'm having a problem with snapping windows though.

If I snap a window to half my screen, how do I get it back to the way I had it? Right now I have to manually resize it which is a pain.

I also have HyperDock and it's much easier to snap in and out with keyboard commands.

So I'm using both BTT and HD, but I wanted to have only one tool running on my system.

Show desktop works fine in El Capitan (cmd-F3 and via gesture on trackpad).

In BTT you can switch to Advanced mode. If you then go to Advanced settings > Window snapping settings you can select more options. One of those options is "Restore old window size if window is dragged away again". It was on by default in my case. BTT is the latest release. The problem is that this is not part of OS X and not every application seems to be working well with it. Forklift worked as it should and returned to its old size but TextWrangler did not, it stayed at the size it had gotten when snapping. I don't expect this to change by using other software for window snapping.
