Has anyone had a good experience?! I'm in the middle of paying off my Mac Pro and everything has gone fine with me. Have it set on auto pay and it works like a charm!

I've used the Juniper card on more than one occasion to purchase a new mac and never had any issues. They have cancelled my account on more than one occasion due to inactivity (I only use it for the no interest promo), but that ends up working to my benefit.

I don't agree w/ those that say "if you have the money you should just pay cash". I prefer to let my money sit and earn interest for as long as I can, it makes the most financial sense.

I can't say I've had a problem with Juniper Visa. The only thing that bugged me was out of my three credit cards, Juniper was the only one that actually dropped my credit line. My balances are all low to nothing, credit is great, and they still cut it in half. So, I just paid the balance off two weeks ago and am keeping it as an emergency card. Same thing with my wife, although she decided to pay it off then cancel (yeah, I don't want to hear about it; I tried telling her )

Having said that, I know several people that have been put in bad situations by them (late charges appearing even after a balance pay-off, increased finance charges, etc).

Jeez people, google "Credit Crunch" to find out why you aren't getting all the credit in the world handed to you (much less another VISA card.) Seriously, if you can't pay for a Mac in cash, you can't afford it. Consumer credit is the next big bubble to pop so you're gonna be forced to pay in cash anways.

Blah, blah, blah. Credit is good for the economy. It's not going anywhere. It may tighten down a bit but to say it's going to pop is crazy.

And the credit crunch has nothing to do with applications from three years ago, which is when mine was. Still got $1,500 off a $120,000 income. They have some serious issues - probably due to the fact that they don't have the money to give lines of credit.

And to those saying "going into debt over a computer is crazy". You don't just all of sudden go into debt from a credit card. Debt is too broad of a term played out by ignorant folks. You are in debt when your debt-to-income ratio is screwed up. If someone makes $6,000 a month and $1,500 goes to paying "debt", you can't say that person is in debt. Now, if you let that $1,500 ride out and just keep paying interest - that is more stupidity than anything. There is nothing wrong with making credit card purchases provided you have a plan to pay them down within a short time-frame. The reason it gets a bad rap is because people DON'T do that, they buy on it and just make minimum payments. Buy that $2,000 MBP, use your credit card, and plan to pay it in three installments. The best way to build credit is to use it responsibly - and nowdays, you NEEEEEEED credit.

A TIP about Juniper

About Juniper: They suck, as does Apple for letting them pilfer from those who are either ignorant enough or desperate enough to use a Juniper card. I have dealt with those buttheads, and I won! I asked how much the payoff would be THREE WEEKS from the date I wanted to make a payment. I then made that payment, along with a letter DEMANDING that they close that account, and lose my name forever. On the back of the check, I printed, "endorsing this check reflects this account is paid in full, and closes this account!"

That was about 10 months ago. I just received a notice that "my" Juniper account was now being administered by Barclays Bank. I'm writing Apple (they started this mess), Juniper, Barclay, the California Attorney Generals Office, and the Dept of Corporations. I have a letter from Jupiter agreeing that this account was closed, so I would think, that at the end of the day, I own their short hairs!

And there is no oly oly oxen ... I had an American Express card. When I went on disability, they third partied the collection to some third-world outfit who used to call me from India, or somewhere similar, from their HOME....you could hear their noisy-as sed parties going on while they tried to scam me out of $2 extra.

So now, I am totally credit-card free (kinda like kicking malaria) and will NEVER venture into that dark, smelly realm again. Acute Illness would be easier to deal with!

F % @ K them!

Juniper is now Barclay Credit Card

I applied for & received a Juniper card, which I never activated, thanks to internet discussions like this. I've not cancelled it.

Because some people who had their account closed because they didn't use the card for a year & had another hit on their credit score, I proactively wrote to all 3 credit reporting agencies via Certified Mail, return receipt requested & in essence explained that in the future if they receive any communication from Juniper that I've requested my account be closed, to ignore the request.

I went on to explain, that I never activitated the card in the first place

I was issued a card, a card that I never activated & never used, nor ever plan to use.

I, specifically, decided to refrain from asking Juniper to cancel my account so as to avoid another hit on my credit score.

I have no doubt, some time down the road, the credit reporting agencies will get a letter from Juniper or Barclay, or whatever other name they use.....telling them that I requested my account be closed.

Yes, Apple Inc has been informed that I decided against purchasing a computer because of their business relationship with Juniper

Prior to this, I had hear a lot of bad things about that company. Things like canceling your card if you didn't buy things that were expensive enough and getting people on technicalities or just being sneaky.

Beware.
