I had heard the stories and naively believed Apple would never do that. Wow was I wrong. After setting the alarm for 1:45 AM central time the best I could get was a May 13 delivery. Yesterday when I checked I found for no reason Apple had changed my delivery date to June. When I called Apple customer service they apologized and the only reason given was that this was done due to the high demand. When I said "why was I the one chosen?" The reply was "you weren't the only one" when I asked to be transferred to customer service, I was cut off. As A gift from my father to a family member whose birthday is all ready earlier than the May 13 the change is something grandpa just cannot understand. What a disappointment!

Looks like mine has not changed. Real bummer about yours though. What watch did you order? When did you order it exactly? When did the confirmation email come in?

These obviously fake posts always come with the most pathetically fake sounding narratives too, as though making up a lie is not possible without adding stupid sounding details like suggesting "grandpa" is an idiot.

Why grandpa? Why????

Bottom line is Apple wasn't ready for 4/24 and it's a dynamic, rolling launch. I would not be surprised if delivery dates move around a lot.

They have to load new software, box them up, box them for shipment, then ship from freaking China.

I think the wrong frame of mind is to be disappointed we missed ordering the first minute, thus causing a delay of a month or two.

Instead, people should just think of it as if the launch is May 24th instead. If we think, "Damn, I missed it, and I am left out of the party", we;'ll just be disappointed, because it's a social event... But just remember, most people are getting it "late" - in other words, it's not really late if you we are getting it when everyone is getting it. :)

Nothing to see here. Move along.

note 1: News satire, also called fake news, is a type of parody presented in a format typical of mainstream journalism, and called a satire because of its content. News satire has been around almost as long as journalism itself, but it is particularly popular on the web, where it is relatively easy to mimic a credible news source and stories may achieve wide distribution from nearly any site. News satire relies heavily on irony and deadpan humor. (Source: Wikipedia)

note 2: Unfortunately I fail to see the humour here.
