How old was that phone? Isn't it over 3 years old? I think the display technology has come a long was since then.....

I had elements of "screen burn" on all of my OLED based handsets including the Galaxy S III. Things may have improved since the i9000 I posted but it is a longstanding issues with OLED screens from my own experience.

Screen burn in? Seriously? I think you are confusing CRT with AMOLED.

Lets all do 3 year old phones with burn in. Got news for you guys, any display will have issues if you leave an image static for long enough on it. Duh.

Backpedal much? :D

I have had my SIII for over a year and abuse the crap out of my display, especially using it for gps on long trips from south Cali to northern Cali. Screen remains perfect to this day.

To sum up: No display technology is perfect. :D

Next argument? :p

This was what my old iPhone 4 (New from October 2012) suffered with too.

It's since been replaced with a new phone after the power button died on it.

That obviously doesn't happen with all of them, pretty sure that's just a faulty unit. Depending on age and where the customer lives you can get Samsung to do a warranty repair.

Of course that's an extreme example. I merely commented "susceptible" in terms of the greater possibility of screen burn in with AMOLED screens. That's important to me since I frequently use my phone in a convertible in full sunlight. Waze and other apps.

Fair enough. But if you get unlucky it can happen on any screen, as the iPhone 4 picture above shows. AMOLEDs have come a long way and I don't think the issue is as prevalent as it once was.

Clearly Apple is doomed. They should just stop making iPhones at this point. Samsung should take over the entire industry and flood the market with Galaxy phones.

Once the world runs on Galaxy phones all our problems will be solved. The GS4 was the phone that "fixed your relationships". One world problem at a time - the GS4 finds you love, the GS5 will end world hunger.

;)
