Since PadOS13 the need for extra storage, at least for my uses, is minimized. 1TB SamsungT5 about $110; problem solved. With USBc the unit becomes a breeze. I also love the touch keyboard; leave off the track pad etc. I’d still go for it. Also, THX to all for your opinions and info. ub

WOW ! Just came across this archive this a.m. (26 FEB 2026) I had no idea.
Jumping forward, THX for everyone's support! I finally committed to a MacBook.
13" 2012 MBP (16Mb, 1Tb) learned to run it, sorta. Still have that one. Moved up a couple times. Went crazy when the 16" M1 MBP came out and found that bigger isn't always better. Settled into a 15" M4 MBA. Somebody used the term 'Goldilocks Zone' and it fits this computer. I also own a MM M2Pro and a 2010 MM as a project. And yes, one iPad, the Mini 6. 😎 Again, THX to any who read this. unkl bob
