Big Sur not automatically updating patches

Not sure what's wrong with my setting. But every time I had to go into System ->Software Update to update the patches manually.

Would it help if I check all the boxes? I have been having intermittent kernel issues with Big Sur where various popups would appear on the screen asking to re-enter the password.

I have been having intermittent kernel issues with Big Sur where various popups would appear on the screen asking to re-enter the password.

I haven't seen kernel panics that ask for the user’s password.
You should probably backup your data and consider a clean reinstall.
