Anybody install Big Sur on their 2018 or 2019 Air yet, and if so, how is it running compared to Catalina? Faster? Slower? No change? I haven't installed it yet; I'm just waiting to hear some opinions before I go down the path of no return. Thanks!

Nope going to keep Catalina on my 2019 Air had no problems runs amazing.......zero issues.

Will be picking up the new Air next year..

Thanks. I also have zero issues running Catalina on my 2018 Air, so I'm holding off on the upgrade until I hear from people who have already upgraded. Heck, I might even do what you did and go ahead and pick up a new Air and just upgrade with a new computer!

Like people say if it ain't broken don't upgrade been there before with my 2015 macbook and my old iPhone 5...
Upgraded the software took me days to restore due to issues with software not compatible and crashing iPhone was the worst killed my battery had to get a replacement phone...
Used to love updating my software but you run into problems...

What version Catalina are you on?
Me still on 10.15.2 not had any crashes or black screen, app crashes or even any battery drainage only losing 2%-4% every two days standby..

My iPhone 11 pro still on 13.3 not one single issue...

I have a 2019 MBA and I have been running the beta version and as of yesterday the public version. It’s definitely not slower, but I’m not sure it’s faster.

I use my computer for work mostly, and the most demanding task is probably Zoom or Google Meet, so I’m not sure how much of a difference I’d notice.

But the interface is so nice that it feels faster. Probably my imagination though.

tldr: I upgraded from Catalina and I’m super happy! Not sure about the speed though.

Big Sur now on my 2018 MBA: no problems once I got past the well documented server/upgrade issues. Generally...startup seems a little faster. Most everything else seems about the same. Haven't played around with heavy image/video apps yet.

I'm trying to upgrade to Big Sur now, but its HUGE 12GB and apparently it needs like 22GB in addition free to install. I only have the 128GB with 27 GB free (15GB after Big Sur downloaded). However there its 60+GB used of OTHER, how do I free up the 60GB of other to make room? Is it possible?
