There are already far to many emojis. You can't find the one you want, and when you use them, it is too unclear what your intended meaning is. They have stopped being useful communication tools.
There is a reason why people are venting in emoji posts, don’t you think?Get ready for emoji complaints from those who don’t use them and think Apple’s software bugs are due to the entire staff working on new emojis.
Yes, they will vent anywhere, including in the comments of completely unrelated stories. There is a reason why people are venting in emoji posts, don’t you think?
Good Times!Man, I remember when you had to install a BS app to unlock the Emoji language for non Japanese iPhones...
I don't use them beyond the basics, but I always wonder when does it end? Why do they need to keep adding really odd stuff like Bigfoot or an eaten apple? What purpose do these really serve, do we need a symbol for everything so emojis can rival Egyptian hieroglyphics?Get ready for emoji complaints from those who don’t use them and think Apple’s software bugs are due to the entire staff working on new emojis.
I like Bigfoot![]()
My take is Apple is trying to create a large library that will encourage the young kids to use. I also see it as a buying enticement for the same group.I don't use them beyond the basics, but I always wonder when does it end? It's not an odd add-on - it's a core emoji.I don't use them beyond the basics, but I always wonder when does it end? Why do they need to keep adding really odd stuff like Bigfoot or an eaten apple? Apple doesn't dictate which emojis get made, that's the Unicode Consortium. My take is Apple is trying to create a large library that will encourage the young kids to use. I also see it as a buying enticement for the same group.
I mean why do they keep adding more and more what seem to be quite useless things, I do not mean Apple, but the Unicode Consortium. It's not an odd add-on - it's a core emoji.
But we do need green and russet versions.
Some don’t like them or use them at all. I am in the don’t use them camp. However, I realize the world doesn’t revolve around what I use and I appreciate that a feature filled with many choices is offered. There is a reason why people are venting in emoji posts, don’t you think?
As a Sweden I'm staring to get offended there is no Cinnamon Roll (kanelbulle) emoji! How should I as a Swede indicate tasty FIKA in text?! Just a cup of black coffee is boring! Give us a Cinnamon Roll emoji!
LOL I can't tell you how many times I said darn where is the Orca emoji.
If that is the case, a lot of people around here need to stop complaining when Apple releases new emojis.Apple doesn't dictate which emojis get made, that's the Unicode Consortium.
Apple don't want to increase compatibility with older versions, they want everybody to upgrade by making as many bugbears as possible. You would think in 2024 with iOS 18 that it would be smart enough not to show emojis for another iMessage user that’s running an older iOS version.![]()
