BigSur to Monterey - any downsides?

Probably needing to move to Monterey because some software updates this year to my apps don’t work on Big Sur.

Any downsides with Monterey that are big enough to make me not do it.

I have two problems so far, bluetoothd daemon seems to be having a memory leak, so it requires force quitting each now and then in Activity Monitor, and Music.app keeps getting worse.

I have only have one external monitor, working well for now.

I don't have any external drives (except Time Machine that I connect like once per week, but that one didn't cause me any problems).

No downsides here. It went flawlessly for me in the past. No external monitor or drive issues...

BigSur is the last version to support 32-bit INTEL software; Rosetta on Montery only supports x64 (64-bit).
Montery will not shutdown/crash, if you have external Thunderbolt disks connected.

otherwise ... I can recommend it (12.6.3).

Just an update, went to Monterey on a 2020 27” iMac (Intel) from Big Sur this weekend.

Update went flawlessly, external monitor worked and tested multiple external drives both SSD and HDD and no problem with staying connected. Backed up Photos app (400gb) to a couple different drives as a test.

It actually is more responsive than before.

Happy to have made the upgrade!

32 bit apps on Mac OS's after Mojave require a virtual machine running Mojave, or a previous Mac OS, installed on a computer with an Intel processor.
