Networking sucks donky balls with Vista. My new Vista laptop still can NOT see the other XP laptop in my house even though it's on the same router, with the same subnet id. The only major thing they did to Vista that I can see is the new Aero interface with 256 pixel icons. Whooop tee freakin dooooo.
When I last spoke with someone who knows, they said it would be called Vienna.Haha this is just gunna be even worse than Vista!! hahaa
Any guesses as to it's proper name??
Vish*ta.....? Vista Take #2.....? Visterd.....? Revista....?

.... but when it is connected to the same network as my iMac or MacBook, they don't see it on the network.
Essentially, Windows 7 build 6519--dating back to December 2007--is just a slightly enhanced version of Windows Vista

Yeah, I updated my post with a correction. I haven't really been keeping up with the news on the next release. I only get involved once they make beta 1 available.code name, like longhorn
I could care less when the next version of Windows comes out. I'm on Mac to stay! 😉
How can Microsoft announce about New Windows while they still have so many issues and things to improve in Vista?? 😕
Maybe they have decided that it is easy to start with clean sheet and create something new instead of correcting and improving Vista... 🙄

When you copy a file using windows, it usually tells you how much time remaining, and it's usually underestimated. So "next year" means take 2009 and add quite a few months to that.Yeah, whatever that means...
I'm waiting for XP SP3 now, I've got Vista SP0 (is there such thing lol) on my MacBook and the rest of the house's computer. I totally do not like Vista's indexing service, prefetch and whatever else - especially when you compare them to OSX that doesn't seem to tamper with the performance...Sad but true. I'm hoping to skip Vista and see what Windows 7 has in store.
You're ready for an expansion pack eh?Someone told me that 7 will be like an add-on to Vista such that you will need Vista for Windows 7. Has anyone heard of that?
