It's definately a step in the right direction. The current system allows the record companies to pay a middle man(called an Indie also called a promoter) who pays the radio stations to play designated songs by the record company. This is just a simple payola go around.

Now if iTunes will only start putting some of the lesser known and unknown independent artists on the iTunes home page from time to time. 🙄

i think it would be cool if the iTMS randomly displaced any artist on it's front page as the featured artist .....

and this would happen for everyone that logged in... different front page for everyone, every time...........

every artist and every would have equal chance to be on the front page......

then when someone listens they can give a rating to the artist that showed up randomly and this would "weight" the probability of that artist showing up more frequently on peoples pages.

therefore if an artist has talent and is really good than they will show up more often and move to number one.....

also needs to give people the opportunity to rate a song or artist as old, or outplayed to move it down the charts and make room for someone new

Time to except change

Billboard has to please a lot of interests at the present time. Sit back and relax. I believe Billboard will become the most acceptable on-line Award worthy company's for on-line-statistics.

Start buying new music on-line. Zero's and One's pay the bills from major to indi's.

As long as it fair and equitable. The important thing is that it takes into account all forms of music purchases.
