Good for her, seems like a cool person I saw her on Hot Ones recently. I think her personality garners her more fans even more than her music but it’s definitely interesting more minimal stuff with some cool MV production.

Enjoyable, crazy it’s THIS popular but definitely enjoyable. Figured Ariana Grande or someone like that would hold those kinds of records, but good to see someone lots haven’t even heard about is making big waves. I wonder what the difference is like with AM and Spotify in terms of genre popularity and demographics, wonder if it’s popping off on there as well.

So you can add something to your library before it can actually be added? This is physically impossible. There are only two states in which the album can be in: not added or added. There’s no such thing as pre-adding. How can you add something if it doesn’t exist? I think that may be paradoxical.

“Pre”-release “add”. Preadd. Have you heard the term “close enough for rock and roll”. This.

Are you the creepy old guy who lives in the basement apartment below me?
If you really think that nobody, anywhere has created truly great music in the past 35 years then you only have one person to blame!

Schroedinger’s streaming.

Give Bellyache, Ocean Eyes, When The Party‘s Over (video is great!), Bored and Lovely a listen as well. Those are my favorites but I actually like most of her songs.

To start off, I can hardly stomach most of the music being played on radio stations nowadays. I first learned of Billie Eilish when I happened to hear idontwannabeyouanymore while scanning radio stations in my car (because I didn't have my phone). Her voice captivated me and I will be honest when I say that my mental image of her did not match up with the 17 year old wunderkind she turned out to be.

To me, her talent is undeniable.

I never listen to radio but almost all music that‘s popular at the moment is Hip-Hop/Rap, which I strongly dislike, and unfortunately many Pop artists feature Hip-Hop/Rap artists on their songs even though they bring nothing to the songs. With Billie, I read her name a few times but just thought "ugh, another singer that‘s being promoted like crazy that we‘ll never hear of again in a few months". Then finally gave Bellyache and Ocean Eyes a listen and been a fan ever since. Crazy to think that she was actually only 14 when she recorded Ocean Eyes. She definitely is talented!

People can like whatever they want without your commentary. I have a bachelor's degree in classical vocal performance and audio production, and I'm a club DJ. All music has its place.
Even Country and Western? Well, I guess I can think of a place for it; so maybe you're right.

GenX-ers on MacRumors: "Who is this? Never heard of her.”
Meanwhile, anyone a millennial or GenZ er asks who Paul McCartney is on Twitter: "DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO GOOGLE?!?"

She's a talented musician. New music happens and it's not the world's job to keep you up with it.

(She sounds like a foul-mouthed entitled teenager during interviews, but that doesn't mean the music isn't good.)

I love Sabbath, AC/DC, Humble Pie, Cream, ZZ Top, Deep Purple (both Gillian and Coverdale/Hughes), and I also love Billie Eilish.

It just takes an open mind :)
His mind prolly closed 35 years ago... :D
... which would be absolutely his free right.
He might as well have the opinion that the art of making movies has died.

Let’s assume he hopped of the train of daily culture. He has no idea what it is to grow up in the newer generations. Neither do I from generation X, but I am genuinely interested of having some clue at last.

I like that new album, and like some (3) songs a lot - fitting very well in the nowadays soundscapes, but honestly... the previous work of her leaves my interest luke warm. I am currently listening to her 2017 album: it’s is the audible counterpart of a sloppy vegetable.

Oh, I need to post-add that I had “pre-added” her after I recently Shazam’ed two of her songs.

I'm 31 years old and I had never heard of this artist until last week. This album is a masterpiece.

Do we have to say "foul-mouthed" when we describe a teenager?
