Billing Address vs Shipping Address?

I cant find the thread anymore because there's tons popping up. I read earlier about changing your shipping address before tonight. Is that the address thats on your Apple ID? and if we cant change it due to it having to match the billing address can we change it?

The addresses are given to Apple from the carrier. That's the address where they ship it to.

You can sign up through Apples website.

I'm a college student living in a different city of my parents billing address. I preordered the iPhone 4s last year and noticed it had their address. I called Apple and they allowed me to change the address. They were very understanding and helpful. I ended up canceling my preorder to wait for the iPhone 5 so I'll do the same this year.

How long did you wait to call apple or should I plan on doing it right after I order?

I did it the next day. Order at 3am. Go to bed. Call around 12pm-1pm.
