Billy Crudup, who currently plays Cory Ellison on "The Morning Show," is set to star in another Apple TV+ series called "Hello Tomorrow," Apple announced today.

Described as a "retro-future dramedy," the show features a group of traveling salesmen who are hawking lunar timeshares.

Crudup will play the starring role of Jack, a talented, ambitious salesman "whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, revitalizes his desperate customers but threatens to leave him dangerously lost in the very dream that sustains him."

The series is directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for "The End of the F***ing World," with Crudup serving as an executive producer.

In addition to starring in this new series, Crudup is also working on season two of "The Morning Show," which is set to premiere on Apple TV+ later this year.

When should we expect to see Apple announce that an entire Apple TV show was shot on an iPhone?

He wrote himself a blank check/role with his amazing The Morning Show performance.

While I completely agree, I'm seeing some closed-membership patterns with ATV+ (Crudup, Hanks, Oprah, Reese). With Apple being such a progressive-minded company I'd like to see more opportunities to showcase knew unknown actors. Or maybe I am just thinking that way because I have a kid in theatre school right now wondering how the hell she's ever going to find a job in the industry post-COVID.

Hopefully this is just phase 1 of making AppleTV+ worth subscribing to. And when they feel like they have enough inertia, they can bring in new people to add variety. I agree with you as a whole, but I bet that felt too risky for Apple for launch.

If you knew any of the actors in Tehran, congrats.

I think those are unknown actors in the United States (I believe it's from Israeli TV).

It's not like Apple makes all its own content--it bids on and purchases most of it's material.

We'll see more "unknown" actors in upcoming offerings, for sure. As long as it's quality and not the trash Netflix purchases, I'll be happy, stars or unknowns.

Or, you can just buy an Apple product every year and continue to get it free.

It seems that's what's happened at my house, anyway.

Crudup is a totally underrated actor, but the description here isn't drawing me in, just like 90% of other Apple TV programs. I've learned I'm just not in the Apple TV demographic, whatever that is.

...salesman whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, revitalizes his desperate customers...

Hmmm. Change a few words and you have:

...football coach whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his players, revitalizes his desperate team fans...

Gotta go with that winning formula!

Not terribly unusual to see this, I mean just look at Netflix who do it on a regular basis. I mean the network has a relationship with the person and therefore is a known commodity. Plus, honestly, I do believe there is some of your bias in there. I look at Apples line-up and see all sorts of actors that I have no idea who they are or what they've done. Plus the reality is you pretty much need some kind of star power to get people to watch, that part ain't on Apple that is collectively on us.
