Bin EXE files with New Dual Core 2

I recently purchased a new Dual Core 2 Mac Book Pro and am having difficulty reading or playing videos that I could play with Quicktime on my G4 Laptop.

Where I had Videos before and had no problems playing them, they now have an "exe" on the screen. What changes do I need to make.

Also after installing Final Cut Pro everytime I want to open a new program or bin file it diverts to Final Cut Pro and informs me that it is th wrong file type.

HELP!!😕
