Hello everyone,

For a school project we have to bind OS X to Active Directory. So I'm trying to make that work, but for some reason I keep getting the error "Unable to add server. Node wasn't found (2000)". I've checked the domain name, DNS settings and the time. I'm able to ping to the Windows Server host (using IP Address AND domain name), but it keeps showing up that error.

I'm doing all of this using VMware Workstation on a Windows BootCamp environment. And by the way, I don't use a .local domain, so that can't be the issue.

Does somebody know what I might be doing wrong here?

Make sure the Mac's DNS is pointing to the AD DC and the DNS is there set up and running.

Both functional.

Teacher checked it for me to make sure everything is indeed correct set up. And even he wasn't able to find the issue here; everything is up and running, settings are as how they're supposed to be. And for the record, he teaches us MCSA. So he definitely knows what he does.

Next time we have project class I'm going to try it within my OS X environment to check whether this has something to do with the host operating system or not.
