Apple Watch has a Chimes feature (Settings → Accessibility → Chimes) that marks the top of every
hour. macOS never got an equivalent. The closest built-in option reads the clock aloud in a
synthetic voice, which interrupts rather than marks.

Bird Chimes is a menu bar app that fills that gap. On the hour, it plays a real bird recording.

- 18 real bird recordings, played at random
- Choose your interval: every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or hourly
- Quiet Hours, and it silences automatically during macOS Focus modes
- Menu bar only, macOS 14+
- 20 languages

Free to download with 10 chimes so you can hear it properly. Pro unlocks unlimited chimes and all
18 sounds, with a 3-day free trial, then monthly or yearly.

I'm the developer, happy to answer questions. Interested in whether other people miss the Watch
chime on their Mac.
