I need an AV for my school network since they don’t let me use my laptops without one, I am trying to decide between those two antivirus programs

Also are those antivirus programs light in terms of resources?

Bit defender all the way for me. Just renewed actually. Had no issues, protection from ransomware and more.

Don’t trust Kaspersky since they’re from
Russia.

How would they even know? If they ask, just tell them you're using Gatekeeper, XProtect, and your Mac's built-in Malware removal tool.
