Make sure you're using the beta of BiteSMS.

If you're on version 4.99, you need to uninstall and get the current beta--check the BiteSMS forum under releases for the repo.

If you're already on the current beta, post a bug report at the same forum for them with all details of model and firmware so they can investigate.

Because it's a beta. It doesn't show updates until you add that repo. Check here for the changelog:
