I use Xtorrent.

Port: 45883

It is weird I use a torrent program on my parents laptop that runs windows and is further from the wifi router and it gets better speeds then me.

I guess the Linksys router doesn't like my Apple airport :( I just wish my room was wired to the router, damn should have done that months ago.

Also bought a DLINK powerline thing, works well but cuts off every 20 mins ARGH

I'm using Transmission right now (it's Day 3 of my Mac Conversion so that might change) and I like it alright, it's no uTorrent (questionable alliances based on the new parent company aside, best torrent client I've used - and I've been hardcore into BT since 2003), but it does the job.

I hesitate to use Azureus only because it is SUCH a memory hog (I hate programs written in Java, I really do - I mean, that's my idea of true bloatware) and even on my brand new MB, I'm still weary about going back to that product, it left a bad taste in my mouth in both Debian and Windows XP - but it still has the best feature set, at least from what I can tell.

Someone help me out here - XTorrent is essentially a torrent client and a search engine, right? How well does that really work, honestly? I've been hesitant to bother with it because the demo version is so crippled (20 kbps limit, are you kidding me? How can I adequately test a program if you limit me to 20 kbps download speeds), but the idea is interesting.

For now though, Transmission is a nice client. I'm just so used to uTorrent, it's weird using something else.

How do I tell what codec I need? It's an avi, I can see the movie fine but no sound. I have no idea what audio codec I need to download.

I still slightly prefer the azureus interface a bit more but it hogs too many resources. transmission is nice and much much lighter.
