I’ve just had to replace my launch black AWU2 via an AC+ express replacement.

Straight out of the box I noticed the replacement was a bit lighter towards graphite and the finish seems smoother. Seems to show fingerprints a bit more too.

Just wondered if this is a “thing” and if anyone else has had this experience (not specifically with a replacement)? Tbh I prefer the colour. Maybe a mid-cycle refresh?

They went to 3D printing with the U3 (I think), and since the case isn't changed in the outer dimensions for all I know, I guess that they are also using this for the U2 replacement watches.
If you get near an Apple Store, maybe compare it to the U3?

Yes, both the titanium series 11 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3s now use selective laser sintering Metal 3D printing. This process is more efficient and economically viable as it eliminates the waste from machining alone
