When I wake up my Mac, I used to get black bars on my screen. Basically I would see my desktop with the background wallpaper already, but some part of it would be covered by huge black blocks.

I thought “Oh god!” because I’ve had a similar issue in spring this year where I had to get my graphics card replaced.

But this thing started when I plugged in my TV on my Mac again, with a MIDI-DV cable (I think that’s what it’s called).

I already had weird problems with this cable (TV screen all green and stuff like this) because there was some wrong contact (I believe I’ve damaged the cable, it isn’t very handy), so I decided to unplug the cable from the Mac and since then it hasn’t been happening anymore.

So like I said, the issue with the cable that I had before was seen on the TV. But is it also possible to see a problem appearing on the Mac because of the cable?

I’m worried something might be wrong with the Mac, especially because I’m trying to sell it so I really want to make sure I’m not selling something damaged to someone who maybe puts all their money into it.

    Cheers :)

Explain… is it when you connect something from outside?

I’m pretty sure that in my case it’s the cable that’s faulty.
