Black Cloth included with MacBook, for what?

There is a black cloth that is included with MacBook in the "Everything Else" case. It can't be to wipe the computer down because it has all this residual black lint and when it touches the MacBook it leaves all this black junk on it. So what is it for? It is square and folded in such a way that the four corners are folded in to make a smaller square. Anyone know?

It's actually to wipe the computer down with. Surprising, isn't it? LOL.

Ours wasn't lint-y or anything. Maybe give it a good shake or a quick rinse and let it dry out. It's AWESOME at removing finger smudge from the screen / casing on the blackbook.

I've been using it to clean the screen, hasn't left anything on my screen.

You even quoted me but obviously didn't read my post. I said it leaves all this black gunk like linty fibers everywhere. Maybe I should wash it?
 
I have that black cloth too, but it doesn't leave any lint. Perhaps you should go wash yours. I use it to wipe down the screen and the case. Works great removing all those fingerprints.

Hmmm didn't get one with my refurb. What do you guys recommend? Is this like a velvet or terry cloth?

I was gonna make a post this morning on this exact issue. I'd like to know what others use to keep their glossy screens clean and the same for the Black case.

Get a microfiber cloth, like those cloth for cleaning spectacles. They work as well as the black Apple cloth.

I mean I like the Apple Black Cloth as long as it works as it's supposed to. I will throw it in the wash today. Hopefully, it will come out nice and lintless.
 
I use mine for the screen, it's like a microfiber, not really like terry cloth or velvet. I also bought a Radtech screensaverz, which I throw on the keyboard before I close the lid.

I had one of the Radtech cloths, I gave it to my grandmother when I bought her the white macbook so she could keep it clean. I have to get another! Those things are friggin sweet.

I don't know if I'd put it through the washer, it might fall apart. I'd hand wash it and rinse it really well, then air dry it.

Make sure you wash it with your towels!:eek:
 
OK, I hand-rinsed it and it is great. I cleaned my MB all over and it's perfect.
 
That black cloth is for wiping the tears away from your eyes, when you realise your bank account is about $1500 less because of a black MacBook purchase. LOL

It works just fine, but you have to make sure that you rinse it and blow dry it after. I did that and it absolutely turned into a perfect MacBook cleaner. I love it.
 
its like a mix between microfiber and terry kind of.
it is the same material all apples other cloths are, the ones that come with the iPhone, iPod, and the computers..
they work great for wiping off all the smudges on the iPhone and on the MacBook

Just an Update! I found this black cloth in my little packet with my OSX discs and it works Great!

As far as this thread being stupid goes. Perhaps some of us take pride and care of our goods! What's so stupid about that? :confused:
