I did the whole order process up until pressing complete order, and the gift card doesn't show up in the cart. Are they waiting for you to buy the iPad first to have the gift card show up?

Hemm, gift card should show up. Btw, the mini Retina is not available to be ordered. Weird.

I didn't have any issues and was able to order mine with the $100 gift card. It should automatically be added to your cart so make sure it's there before completing the order.

Just as I thought, rMini isn't included in the gift card deal. Maybe Apple will include it in their BF deal, but I doubt it.

Never mind, I guess they are eligible except they are not available for sale online and in store per Target website.

If i go tomorrow to a store, should there be enough stock? How does that work on black friday usually?

Target with $100 Gift Card Online

The Target deal for the iPad with the $100 gift card is available online for all models in stock except the 16GB WiFi. I just picked a $32 GB iPad Air for $601 including tax/Red Card discount plus the $100 gift card.

Mini Retinas are listed with the discount, but none are in stock. While the 16GB is a good deal at $479, not having to deal with the craziness in the store is priceless.

If you look on the web page all mini's come with a $75 not $100 gift card. But it doesn't Matter they are all sold out

Well, I hope that everyone has done well in their efforts to get iPads at great prices. I showed up at my local Target about 5:30 pm, for the 8:00 opening. There were twenty to twenty-five people in line. So I joined them in the 30 degree chill.

When they let us in, I zoomed to the Apple product cashier, and I was about sixth in line. They had stacks of iPads behind the counter, most of which appeared to have been iPad Minis. I was concerned that they had low stock of the iPad Airs.

When it was my turn, I said, "I need two iPad Airs, 16GB, space gray, please." And the cashier put them both on the counter in front of me. I then said, "I need them to be rung up separately so that I can have separate receipts.

When the first one was rung up, I swiped my Target debit card. And, when the 5% discount was deducted, and the 5.3% state sales tax was applied to the discounted price, the total for the first one was $479.13. I was also given a $100 Target gift card.

When the second iPad Air was rung up, I said, "I have a $100 gift card, and let's put the rest on my Target debit card." The total due for the second iPad Air was $379.13, and I was given another $100 gift card, which I will use to buy things that I need to buy anyway.

This was my first Black Friday/Thanksgiving shopping expedition. And I am really pleased that it turned out this well.

I was able to buy an iPad Air 16GB online from Target with the deal; I happened to be up at the time (midnight) and it quickly went out of stock.

Tried again in-store last night for my parents but Target ran out of 16GB Airs while I was waiting in line.

it definitely depends on the store. I was with family in Wausau Wi and walked up to the electronics counter. Bought one mini, paid. Then asked for another and paid with the 75 gc and the rest cash. Was in and out in 5 minutes.

Why on earth everyone buying 16 GB Ipads, its just not enough space for anything apart from a few decent programs and a few games and photos, 16 GB is pathetic! yet very popular, im wondering WTF

For me, a matter of being willing to manage memory utilization in return for a really good deal. After gift card, the 16GB iPad Air was $379 at Target! To get a 32GB Air was $120 more ($599 - $100 gift card). An extra $120 wasn't worth it for me, I'd rather keep an eye on my memory usage. I don't watch movies/etc on my iPad, nor do I play games. It's a productivity device for me. If the price differential were more reasonable, I would certainly have liked to get more storage. But not for +$120.

And for my parents, I doubt they would even fill up 16GB...

I have a 16GB with more than 300 apps (not programs). I also have 6GB of files, pictures, videos, etc. in my Dropbox account that, for the most part, does not affect the available space in my iPhone or iPad.

I am not like Woz, who needs the largest capacity to transport his collection of Big Bang Theory videos. I like the show, and Woz. I just don't need to take all of the shows, or Woz, with me at all times.
