On Catalina, you need to use the Retroactive app to install iTunes 12.6.

Ironically, for those that don't currently have an iPad, I think it might be easier to buy the app on a Windows computer these days than on a Mac.

If someone has a better way, I'd love to hear it.

I downloaded that app and got iTunes working with App Store. Many thanks for that link. It is a godsend for those looking to get access to iOS/ iPadOS App Store on the Mac to take advantage of sales.

Affinity apps are worth it even for the full price.
A word of warning on Affinity Designer: There is no "Select same colour/stroke/fill/appearance" feature so if you're doing serious artwork you're going to be in a world of pain very quickly. Devs have promised it for literally 5 years now and not delivered on that promise. I won't post a link to their forum but a quick search on the internet will find the original post from August 2014 that is going to this day.

It's a staple feature for a professional and hasn't been delivered. Buy it or don't, just be aware of the kind of developers you're supporting.

Wow, just wow, literally the first thing that came up when I searched for it. Rather off-putting for any potential clients. Good thing I am not doing any graphic design.

Can anyone confirm the sale on 1Blocker for ios? I see lifetime price at 44.99$ (CAD). Or 13.49$/yr billed anually.

But at these prices, does it include the mac app as well?

How does it work at backing up Contacts? Reliable?
Does it back up all fields?

All fields are backed up, in fact the entire contacts database is a standard part of iOS backups, so when you restore a backup, they all get restored in the exact same state. Note that this is useful for 'On my iPhone' contacts mainly - other contacts are synced via iCloud or email accounts.

iMazing also lets you browsed extract contacts from the backup. You can export contacts in various formats: VCARD, CSV or Excel.

Why don't you give the trial a go if you're on the fence? If your custom fields aren't handled well, you'll find out immediately and won't have purchased for nothing. Oh, and if that's the case, please let us know what we could improve at https://imazing.com/contact, thanks!

@Gregzo thank you for your detailed reply

I do realize this part

Question about:

What does iMazing have to do with sync'd contacts? I am less aware of how syncing affects my contacts. I don't believe I'm doing this because I definitely don't sync my contacts to the cloud. I always say "no" to the "Can we access your contacts?" questions from apps.

Thank you. This is exactly what I am looking for for 2 reasons -
1) to have a complete backup to my contacts that lives outside of the Apple ecosystem
2) to print out all my contacts and put them in the safe deposit box
i.e., to have a contacts backup that lives outside of digital storage only

I used a different app for this purpose for a year or so, then it just stopped working.

Thank you for making software I really need.

please let us know what we could improve at https://imazing.com/contact, thanks!
So far only a Swiss chocolate on my pillow :).

Synced contacts aren't related to apps which may ask for permission to access your address book, but to accounts such as a Google account, Yahoo, Microsoft Exchange, or iCloud. You can easily see which contacts are synced with which account like this:
  1. Open the Contacts app on your iPhone
  2. Tap 'Groups' in the upper left corner of the screen
  3. You'll see all your groups here, themselves organised by account. The local account which isn't synced automatically is named 'iPhone' or 'iPad' depending on your device.
About chocolate: we're actually tasting a pecan nut tablet from one of our very best local artisans, Tristan. Picture attached, absolutely no intention to cause any jealousy, promised!
