Crap, I used my work reward points to buy it at full price few weeks back. Still waiting for arrival.

Missed it by 30 seconds. Deal showed live but then it would not add to my cart. ANd then 1 min later the deal was gone. Bummer!

Edit: Walmart still has them for $159 so I grabbed a pair there. Regardless, thanks MacRumors!

I bought yesterday for $169. Already got them. I contacted support last night when Walmart got them back in stock at $159 and they wouldn't price match but gave me a $12 courtesy credit to use on anything sold & shipped by Amazon so it worked out for me. So far I am happy with them, just going to take some getting used to coming from Gen 2s.

7 days on price changes. Used to be 30 days…some may still have that ability.
Given the 30 days return window it would make sense to be 30 days. Guess I will keep returning things in case of a major price drop. You didn’t answer though, do I need to contact the customer support or is there a button to get the adjustment?

You can chat with Amazon (easier to google for it than try to find it on their website) and then you can ask for the adjustment. If they decline, ask for a free return label and they'll email it to you. As soon as UPS scanned my box, Amazon credited my account the $200 and I turned around and ordered the AirPods for $159 for Friday delivery.

Is Amazon limiting this to one per account? I bought it at $169, but customer service wouldn’t give a refund of the difference (not even Amazon credit), despite ordering just 2 days ago. Went to start a refund and tried to order again at the $159 price point and I’m given the error “We have changed your purchase quantity to maximum allowed.”

damn I ordered on Walmart yesterday. coulda saved 5% with my amazon card here... not to mention I've always had bad luck ordering anything from Walmart...
Then why would you order from Walmart if you know they will likely be a problem? Just curious.

This is tempting.....

I have the Powerbeats Pro. I understand they don't have the active noise cancelling, but everything else about them I like (fit, battery life). I'm not exactly sure when I would use the AirPods Pro versus the PowerBeats Pro.

I have the Powerbeats Pro and Gen2 AirPods.
I love my Powerbeats pro, way better sound than the gen 2. I just don’t like how it muffles out ambient noise like cars.

Mainly decided on the AirPod Pros for the ANC and transparency mode.
Will use those over the Powerbeats Pro for my daily commute on public transit, walking around busy streets or whenever I want ANC.

I’ll use the Powerbeats Pro for workouts/powerlifting.

For some (including me) it happens about one or two months of receiving a new pair. Mine have been replaced six times so far.

FWIW, it does seem to happen mostly for people who use them while exercising or otherwise moving around (jogging, walking, etc.)

This thread, which is now up to nearly 40 pages and 1,000 posts, covers the issue pretty well:

Ahh. Yeah, I never use my Airpod Pros for exercise.

I've got the (similarly ill-fated) Powerbeats Pro for that.

But I'll buy the Beats Fit Pro buds the second they're available in Europe.

I ordered a set: These are worth about $99, so I don't feel *too* ripped-off paying $159 for them. The features are nice; especially the transparency mode for certain types of activities, but the sound reproduction just isn't close to what one should get out of $159 headphones, let alone what they usually cost. I would have felt *very* put out if I paid full price for these things. I'm probably biased as I tend not to like the sound of ear-buds in general, but at this cost the first thing in my mind upon listening certainly should not be "these aren't close to worth the full cost."

Did the online chat last night with Apple, and I’ve got a box coming to return my blown pair! Now I’ve got 3 sets to cycle through so Apple can take their time with repairs. Hopefully my latest set is more resilient.
