I prefer the target $140 gift card (essentially cash to me) since we shop at target for groceries and diapers etc. plus 5% target off.

But if target doesn't stock any 64gb cellular iPad air 2 models online (I already know hardly any target retail stores carry cellular 64/128gb in store anyways). So if not available online. I will just do the best buy $100 off deal. I know best buy has plenty of online cellular model stock.

I don't see why they would do this when you're returning the first ipad with a gift card, unless they track the gift cards/print the # on the receipt. Because what happens if you only purchase 1 ipad and decide to return it? You have to keep the gift card no matter what?

Buy one ipad 1 with gift card 1, buy 2nd ipad with gift card 1 and receive gift card 2, return ipad 1 with gift card 2

1) Spending the gift card reduces the refund value
- Buy $500 iPad + $140 Gift Card
- Use $140 Gift Card
- Return $500 iPad and get $360 Refund

2) Yes, they track the gift card number
Target isn't new at this game and their well established system was designed to thwart people trying to game them. They know exactly how much is on every gift card and how it was obtained. So rather than trying to "outsmart" them then people should just appreciate that a 30% gift card discount on a newly released product makes it a great deal.

3) Target Gift Card = Adult Life
Target sells clothes, electronics, food, movies and housewares. No offense to anyone, but we can only assume that someone who can't find something to buy at Target is a kid and has mom pay for their living expenses. So IF thats the case then why not just sell the gift card to mom? Lunchables don't grow on trees you know.

Agreed. Also, they could give the gift card as a christmas gift to someone who shops at target or sell it to someone. The gift card is not useless.

Any deals on ipad with 4g?

I would be curious to know this too. The add mentions "Other colors and gb sizes included in offers". But nothing about lte. I would guess target would offer the same gift card on lte since it's more money for them.

Will these iPad mini 2 deals be available online or only in store? I really don't want to deal with the crowds.

Speaking of Black Friday.

I might do a sale on the iPad Data Unlimited Plan.

I got a few of them that I can give away at a discounted rate.

I'am considering it, at this point.

A $200 iPad Mini 2 is a steal TBH.

Yup, I live in Europe and I really hope I'll see a $200 iPad mini 2 deal. A $400 iPad Air 2 is also something I would consider.

Too bad Black Friday isn't *really* a thing here, although there'll likely be some discounts.

Reference to Target/Best buy,

Can I buy one now and walk in on the black friday to receive the gift card/discount? It would save me from waiting in line or deal with the crowd.

Thanks

I think Target will be my go-to place for iPads. I've been planning on replacing my iPad 4 with an iPad Air 2. Then give my old iPad to my kids to use. But... with this deal, I think it will be best to buy everything there. I can buy a 64GB iPad Air 2 for me and get a $140. GC. Then buy an iPad Mini 2 and collect that GC. Then buy another iPad Mini 2, apply the two gift cards and be pretty close to getting that one for free. Both Minis should be close to free after I sell the iPad 4. Win, win, win!!! :)

Oh yeah, toss my the 5% discount in for using my Target Red card too! :)

Are there any deal on cellular iPads without contract ? I specifically need Verizon LTE and prefer larger iPad over mini. All the ads I see are for wifi only models.

I might be wrong about this but after looking at a bunch of ads, it looks like they show some of the best deals and other configurations are available (size and cellular).

Stores aren't stupid. They aren't going to discount a brand new Apple product $140 off retail price.

Target is eating a lot of the cost. Their reasoning is sound. They will take around a $100 loss of the iPad Air 2 (assuming apple generally gives retailer around a 10% shelf discount to carry their products). . But their internal stats tell them the $100 gift card they give you. Most of their customers will end up spending 10x that amount over the year. They will recapture the $100 loss soon.

Target doesn't want you slickdealers who will buy and run and never come back to buy anything in their stores if they sell it for $140 straight cash off the retail price

No it doesn't. The value is still in iPad mini 2 since they aren't he same exact specs. Heck. The Touch ID doesn't even have a functioning NFC chip (for Apple pay).

that and they will have the cases and accessories at full price and 1000 times profit margins

Since it is less than 14 days to Black Friday, if one buys an iPad direct from Apple now will they be eligible to receive the gift card/discount for BF?

I ordered mine last Thursday and the Apple rep told me my return window ends on 01/08 (because of the holday season). Should I be eligible?

What carrier? I would be very interested.

I'll go to Best Buy and see if I can trade in my current iPad 3 and iPhone 5 to get the air at a discount.

How about Target? I know they extend their report window around the holidays. If we buy an iPad now, can it be returned to get the Black Friday Deal then?

Hi guys I am just wondering about this,

Currently Best Buy is offering $100 off with 2 years contract for Cellular iPad Air 2s...what I am wondering is if this will stack with the Black Friday deal.

Basically iPad Air 2 64GB $729 - $100 BF deal = $629 and then maybe a two year contract to bring it down to $529? And possibly trade in my iPhone 5 white to bring down price to $329? I am not sure if this will actually work...

While the Target deal is theoretically better for providing a $140 gift card, it sounds like the Best Buy deal is online too. I'd rather spend an extra $40 at Best Buy and not have to deal with the Black Friday masses.

Target doesn't sell apple gift cards do they?

Can you really buy gift cards with a target gift card?
