I don’t expect any apple product introduced since September 2018 to be discounted on Black Friday. Only old tech like iPhone 7. That might actually make the iMacs more likeable given they are nearing the end of the product life cycle - they have to clean the inventory from those slow 5400rpm drives and fusion drives in order to go all SSD + the inevitable $200 price increase.

Apple themselves used to have a Black Friday sale usually with modest discounts. I think last year it was just gift cards though, and not on everything. So, if you are hoping to find a deal, it will be from somewhere like Best Buy, and you would be limited to the two preconfigured models I suspect.

In other words, don't expect much.

Demand for the mini appears to be quite strong. In NY, for custom configurations, Apple is currently saying Nov. 23-27 for home delivery and Nov. 27 for store pickup.

There doesn't seem to be much of a reason to offer a Black Friday deal.

Is a week really atypical for custom configurations? Looking at the 21.5" iMac, for example, that's even later (Nov 27-29 to home, Nov 30 to store).

Yeah, that's why Microcenter is selling new Air for $200 off :)
But if you’re talking about Apple discounting then no.

Wondering how much of a discount Santa Tim will give us this year! Thinking maybe $150 off the 799$ model?
I think Apple introduced it too close to BF. I would wait few months if not in a hurry.

Apple Stores won't discount the 2018 Mini this year. You'll have to wait for a refurb unit if you want a discount from Apple. I expect some third party Apple Authorized dealers that advertise heavily on Apple focused sites will offer a discount as soon as supply catches up with demand. Nobody will be offering $150 of the $799 2018 mini until Apple replaces it. I think $50 - $75 off would be the best we see off the base model. I'm hoping we will see $100 off the I5 model in the next month or two.

To bring this topic back to the top, there are at least a couple of discounts on the 2018 Mac Mini. Apple Insider has Adorama codes that give you $100 off either the i3 base model (3.6GHz 8GB 128GB for $699) or the i5 base model (3.0GHz 8GB 256GB for $999). I was planning on going higher end but that $999 price is pretty tempting, and I guess I could upgrade the RAM myself. Does anyone know of any other possible deals?

I just ordered mine (in Sweden) from Apple’s retailer and got it at a 10% discount. That’s only for the base models. No BTO are avilable.

That’s a great deal for a product that’s still out of stock at many places.

I used this deal for the midrange at 999$ which I think is very good. Now to convince my wife we need one before it arrives!
