I wasn't talking about the band color but the color of Space Gray vs. Silver body. If someone posts a real-life photo of the back of either one, it's really difficult to tell unless we see the front (black vs. white face).

The band color on the Space Gray model does change depending on the viewing angle and lighting. As a result, it can be darker or lighter than the body. The OP was asking why the Space Gray body is so much darker in the render than in real life. "Dark space grey" were his exact words.

Your suggestion doesn't sound plausible to me, but we'll have to agree to disagree about our speculations.

If you look at subsequent posts (specifically number 4 in this thread) he is referring to the bands...

iphone 6 looks very very ugly

I agree, I hate this design. I'm thinking of skipping the 6s as well and waiting for the 7 unless it really has some amazing new features.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder :p.

But anyway, the design grew on me and I think it looks nice.

And I had to upgrade, otherwise my friends in school will tease me for using 5.

LOL What?! That's REALLY snobby! Were you joking or what?!

Nope, the camera itself is a good reason to upgrade IMO. The 240fps slow motion and 60fps 1080p recording are awesome !

How about you ?

I would venture a guess that EVERY SINGLE IPHONE THAT YOU SEE on Apples website is either totally CGI or so very photoshopped that it might as well be a shark with al laser strapped to its head.
Actually there are no CGI iPhones on Apple's site. These are all real phones.

Post the article then.

There have been iPhone images on both apple.com and in keynotes with goofs like misplaced switches and missing antenna bands, clearly indicating that they're renders.

Peter Balanger is the photographer behind all the gorgeous iPhone and iPhone photos that Apple uses for marketing.

And it's A LOT of work.

They're real photographs eventually made into renders post-production. They have to anyway in order to be perfectly consistent.

but that's because you have to see the extreme detail in the website. So that you're not questioning what you're buying when you get the device. It includes taking hundreds of mega photos and stitching them all together.

Its the space gray model...but I actually do wish it was darker like that, like the i5 slate color, alongside with the black front curved glass, that would of looked even better with that dark gun metal look I can just imagine it right now lol

Try an Powersupport black rubber air-jacket on your SG iPhone. It's as close to a black iPhone as I have seen. With a slip resistant surface too!

(using this in my SG 6 Plus. It's just a great case!)

If nothing else I think those dark bands look much better. Been nice if they were black on space grey.

Also to point out a lot of times manufacturers won't try to match colors on dissimilar materials because it's difficult to have them match perfectly and ends up looking half assed.

Another thought, are all the bands across all iphone 6 the same color? Cuts down on manufacturing costs if so.
