What the hell is going on?!?

For the last 2 days my Macbook has been leaking a transparent liquid, slightly viscous. At first I thought it was water from a table but I found it again today on my desk AND in the carry case???? It seems to be coming from the battery compartment but when I opened it up everything seemed fine?

I never knew there was even fluid in computers?? Any thoughts on what this could be? Obviously I will be taking in to the Apple store but hopefully someone can explain this?

I will be posting pics as soon as I get my hands on a camera.

Thanks in advance.

The first thought would be fluids leaking from the battery, but you say that there's no signs in the battery compartment. There's really nothing else in the MB that has liquids, although the LCD screen could leak, but you'd probably notice that as well ... as in a huge crack on the screen.

I'd double check your battery again, and if it is leaking, take care of it right away. You don't want to be messing with the fluids inside of a battery.

Thanks. I checked the battery again and it's all good, although now my screens fading to a light green colour???!! There is something seriously wrong with this machine, I'm now typing from my pc instead. The fans are making some mad noises following the screen problem.

This Macbook's gone to heaven!

if your screen is affected, i;d say its the lcd leaking. just bring it to your local apple retailer and get that fixed asap.

It's a leaking LCD screen. Not a normal thing, and I've never seen it happen in a MacBook but it does happen from time to time.

They'll probably replace the whole machine, that liquid will have leaked all over the logic board.

TAKE THAT TO APPLE ASAP!!! This is another report of liquid leaking. Drive to an Apple Store and tell me, first call them to tell them the problem. That liquid I am pretty sure is somewhat dangerous to your health. Don't touch is! Apple should give you a new computer.

Yes. LCD should not be confused with LSD;
(bad joke over)

As everyone has been telling you, your LCD is leaking and take it to an Apple Store immediatly because that stuff is bad for your health.

For future reference, would you take pictures of the leak and extras (like your screen or any affected places)?

No, people will complain more than compliment. That's why you read so many bad reports.

Anyway, yeah, whatever is coming from your computer is most likely dangerous and should be taken care of ASAP.

No. Visiting this forum is like listening to the news, you only hear bad parts. There's not much point in a post saying that everything is fine with their laptop.
