I'm interesting in buying one of the old black macbooks for no reason greater than I wana be a little different 😛 My question is would I be able to obtain and install one of those new 8-9 hour batteries into the laptop?

At he Apple Store still has black MacBook batteries, and no, you can't use a new 8-9 hours battery with the older MacBook.
