    Hello!
I've just cracked my black 13" Macbook screen and will need to have it replaced. How did I do it? My charger was not connected to the plug point properly and it slipped out and fell on my screen! The macbook works fine and I have booted it up and listened to music on it as well, but the screen is completely ruined.

I had a couple of questions about what my options are.

    1) How much would it cost to replace the screen by apple in the US - In India it costs the equivalent of 900$ with a 40INR:1$ exchange rate?
    2) How reliable is a piece with a changed screen?
    3) How much can I sell this piece for w/o changing the screen?
    4) Can I change the screen myself - If yes how do I get the necessary information?
    5) Any advice?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks...
    - Ram :A much troubled user!

I don't know enough to help you significantly with this. If the job is done properly, with good spare parts, your machine should be as good as it was before the accident.
