Black marks from Smart Cover?

So I took my Smart Cover off my iPad this morning and on the side, where the Smart Cover atatches are a greyish-black marks. They easily wipe off with a bit of water, but they have smudged all the way to the back of the iPad, leaving streaks, the one fold has black marks too. I have a black iPad 2 and a grey smart cover. Anyone else having this issue?

It's fine metal particles from the hinge moving. Nothing to get all worked up over.

Yes i did notice that about an hour ago, but I didn't think twice about it and I didn't realize it was the smart cover
