Spoken like a true college student :)

Entertaining, but I need fruit and vegetables in my diet.

WEll take some vitamins. :)

Anyway not a student, but I remember those days.

I do think most folks could easily step up if they cutback a bit in some areas. Not eat out as much for a month or two. Clip a few coupons. turn down your heat a few degrees for a month. ....etc. :p

Now those sound like more reasonable (and healthy) suggestions.

Yup, you can save a lot if you track where the money's going. Last month I spent a little over $100 on non-food stuff--most of which went toward replacing an aged backpack with a newer, larger, and more comfortable one.

im sorry, the buy low end and buy often arguement is retarted. thats like saying "id rather buy a new honda civic every three years than buy a bmw 5-series and keep it for 9 years." what would you rather do?

This doesn't hold because car performance doesn't deteriorate on any scale comparable to computer performance, and the difference between an MB and an MBP is far less than the difference between a Honda and a BMW, no matter what Apple's marketing would lead you to believe.

Okay, so your computer needs are pretty basic so everyone will say get the MacBook...but my recommendation would be if you have the extra money to get the Pro, then get the Pro. It's more powerful, its faster, and multitouch seems pretty cool even if you don't use it all the time...plus the screen size on the MBPs is better
