The age old question. I've never even considered white before (i've had only black colored devices since the iphone in 2007 and even the nano before that), but now that apple has gotten rid of the slate color in favor of 'space gray,' I'm not sure what to do.

I hate the idea of the iPad not matching my phone or my Mac... granted my mini and iphone don't match the macbook air exactly, but they compliment each other.

And the white iPad's silver will match my macbook air, but not my phone at all. Also, I'm really worried about how media is going to look on a white iPad. Anyone know? It's always been my thought that black bezel helped you focus in on what was on the screen. Idk.

But it does seem like apple is really pimping the white.. it's all over their site. iOS 7 does look a lot better on it.

I guess I have a little while to make a decision :)

But what are you going to buy??

Black!

In my personal opinion, the white bezel is a distraction from what's on the screen whereas black appears more neutral and blends in better with the content. I'm on my 5th iPhone and this will be my 3rd iPad and I've always had black (although white hasn't always been an option).

This is only my opinion and everyone is different so, before ordering, go along to the store and try both, see which you prefer. Also, bear in mind, if you buy an Apple case, you won't see the back anyway so it's all about the bezel.

Enjoy!

White blends in with content better and is less distracting and awkward looking than the black.

From my Reeder news reading app that is a light sepia background color like iBooks.

To iBooks with it's white or sepia.

To most webpages use a white background, and most of iOS's UI is white.

I switched from Black iPad 1 to White iPad 3 and and then phone, won't go back.

This is what I think, too, but I've heard one or two users claim the opposite (edit: the user who posted above me while I was writing this makes that three). I've always used black iOS devices, but I'm thinking of trying out white with my next iPhone just to see how it is. My preference for the iPad remains black, though.

Black for sure

White is smoking, but I watch movies, so the black border thing....

(Lucky I don't need to agonize of this this)

I got a white iPhone but will be getting a black iPad since I will be using the iPad as my main "TV" functionality and that little black border between the screen and the bezel would seem to be annoying on an iPad.

All good thoughts. I'm going to have to sit and think about it more. Talk about first world problems...

Had black iPhones, had one white 4s. Looked great for a bit, but I ultimately wanted a black device again. I thought I was settled on black/space grey for the air. I can't tell a lie though - the white in that iPad air video looked sexy as hell.

I have ipad 4 with white bezel and a mini with black, both is nice. Can't say that the white bothers me when watching movies. Still haven't decided which to get the Air in...

Here's a thought. What color are 99.9% of TV bezels?

If all you use an ipad for is watching videos...

Here's another thought. What color paper is used for most books, magazines, and print-outs? White or another light color. Must be a reason for that. :D

Point being - there's no definitive answer covering everybody's needs.

Black. It's superior for media on the device in the dark. However, if you do a lot of web browsing in the daytime it's a good choice to go with the white as a lot of websites use white/light color schemes.

Touche!

Well, you're getting all kinds of opinions here, so I guess you'll have to do the unthinkable...

... make up your own mind.

(Are you really going to spend that much money based on someone else's tastes?)
