Black Scorpio won't work on a macbook?

I was going to buy a black scorpio 500GB SATA II to update my late 2008 macbook(not pro)

but I did a quick research and came up with this thread:

people seem to have an issue installing black scorpio on their MacBooks from that time.

Can any one clear up the situation for me? Is there another brand I should go for? I don't want to pay $100 for a hard drive that will ruin my system

I have a black scorpio 320 GB too with no problems at all
