So I bought this macbook pro off of a coworker and they said that the screen wouldnt turn on and start up. I've done everything I can think of, I've searched all the forms and tried everything. Plug it in and hold shift+control+option+power, nothing. I've tried option+command+r+p after the first chime, nothing. So what happens is it'll start and the chime will go off and the screen will briefly light up but only for a fraction of a second. The caps lock button lights up and off when I press it. When I press and hold the power button the SIL will be a bright solid light and after a few seconds it flashes very rapidly and then powers off. I've also unplugged the battery from the logic board and waited, I've taken the ram out and the harddrive and plugged them back in and nothing, it's still the same. The model number is A1278.

Have you tried a different power adapter without the battery connected? Sounds like there may be a problem with the logic board.
