Black Square appearing during Airplay

Anybody else getting this with their Apple TV?

My recently purchased 3rdGenRevA Apple TV has an issue where after it's been awake/sleeping/awake over and over for a few days, I see this black square when I try to airplay a video from my iphone5. Also happens from ipad2.

This happened using Apple TV software 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 (never tried any prev. revs). And with iphone/ipad at IOS 7.0.3 and 7.0.4.

It's annoying for sure and only fix I've found is to restart the ATV. Maybe my box is defective?
