Tried it on at my Apple store appointment and fell in love with it. I compared it to the black sports watch, which was also pretty good. The price is insane though, at $1100!

Has anyone ordered this watch despite the high price?

It's only $100 more than the Silver 42/SS/Link I received today.

Yet that said my years as an avid ultra luxury Swiss watch collector have provided me with a lot of experience and ability to evaluate watches in general. My point is, just like many Apple products, the Cupertino Company is exceptionally good at demanding very high prices for the products they make. That's not a criticism , more power to them.

Apples masterful marketing has convinced hoards of people that their prices are appropriate, I'll simply say I give them credit for raking in the massive profits they make.

You pay a lot less over there than what we pay for Apple products here in Australia. The black SS 42mm is $1,629 here! iTunes music is much more here, so are apps. Just the Apple tax we all have to pay!

Not really.

A$1629 - GST = A$1481.00

A$1481.00 = US$1158.00

We pay ~US$60 more. Not a great deal.

I have ordered both the SG sport and the SSSB link as I'm not sure which one to keep, Im in the UK so paid
£340 for the SG and £950 for the SB so almost 3 times the price but as a watch collector I understand that they both do the same thing but you pay for the quality of materials.

It's the same as my tags, omegas and Rolex watches they do the same as timex or rotary watch would but I'm happy to pay for quality etc

I'm trying both on today to see if it's worth me keeping the SG until the SB comes as there is 2 months difference

But I would put money on it if our dollar was parity with the US dollar the prices would still be the same.
The iPhone is a perfect example, when the AUS dollar was actually higher than the US dollar, even allowing for GST, the iPhone was more expensive here than in the US.

I couldn't get enough of the amazing bracelet clamp. It was an elegant two-step mechanism to clasp the watch on the wrist. My current watch pales in comparison!
