I have now tried the "Nudient" black case for my Xr and it is perfect except for the fact that it is slippier than soap on melting ice.

Are there any other cases that are thin and solid black with good grip and a raised lip around the camera?

Caudabe Sheath? A lot of us on this subforum love it. Check out the stickied thread at the top for the XS/XS Max or the other XR owners threads here.

For me, its grippy because its textured all around the case (including the back) and the lip is just high enough (it extends a little higher than my tempered glass). Caudabe has a 25% sale right now if you're interested.

Another cheaper option is the Silk Kung Fu Grip case. Its a little similar to the Caudabe Sheath and reported to have higher lip than the Sheath. But personally, the Silk Grip feels slightly flimsier than the Caudabe Sheath. I have the wallet version of the Silk case for my iphone 8..but I think the grip texture is only on the side of the Silk and not the back.

The Silk case is pretty good still, but I just prefer the Caudabe Sheath much more.

I've used Spigen cases since the iPhone X, I really like their products, really good pricing as well.

Thank you for the replies! Caudabe looks good, but a bit thicker than the Nudient case.

Will investigate further. :)

There’s the Caudabe Veil XT, which is thinner than the Sheath. I don’t see it mentioned as much here lately so not sure how the newer versions feel..

The Sheath has arrived and to far it is looking and feeling great. Much grippier than the Nudient I tried first. Quite a bit bulkier though, but seems "just about right" in terms of protection/slimness.

The sheath is great ! My only
And favorite black Xr case

I've used it for one day, but it fits my bill perfectly. Grippy, but not too much, matte black look and noe logos or anything. The XR looks very slick and "low-key". Just what I wanted for office use.

There are times I hate it isn’t transparent to show off the blue and other times it’s perfect and what I want for stealth Mode haha and turns it into like a grippy
Black Xr

Speck Presidio Pro is extremely grippy and protective.

Did your grip improve with time? I received mine a few days ago directly from Speck and it feels super slippery. I can’t use use the phone one handed easily cause it feels like it’s going to slip out of my hands.

It’s probably best to wash new plastic cases with soap and water or wipe it off with an alcohol wipe. They likely have some mold release agent still on them from manufacturing. I’m guessing of course but a good cleaning makes a small but noticeable difference. But if it does have some kind of lube on it, it will wear off fairly quickly anyway.

Yes it did, after about 2-3 days of usage it is super grippy just like the Apple Silicone cases after a couple days of usage.
