Coming from the champagne gold iPhone 6 Plus, which now I own the Space grey IPhone 6s Plus, I would definitely say that black is indeed better.

For starters I enjoy how sophisticated it simply looks, how the screen simply disappears as you turn it off, truly giving the phone a modern futuristic look. You can barely even see the front facing camera and gyro, also the touchID button is blended in as well, which is weird cause the other ones usually have an accented ring.

Also, because of the deep black that is used, wallpapers, especially the ones provided by Apple such as then purple flower one with the black drop, pop better. It was very difficult finding a suitable wallpaper for my previous 6 plus because of how it simply clashed with the white bezels.
Overall it simply looks nice. I was originally going to go for the silver iPhone but I am very happy I made the decision to get space gray. Sometimes I don't even put my phone in its case.

Who cares what anyone else prefers?

It's your phone and your money, go with what YOU like.

Go for black, i have just got my first ever white fronted iPhone and i hate it, it looks awfully cheap and tacky no matter what case you put on it, whereas the black always looks classy, i only got the white because it was cheap. I am almost embarrassed to be seen in public with the white one.

Black versus white iPhone 6S Plus - what's better?
There is no such thing as "better" when it comes to color. It's simply a matter of ones color preference. Go to the store and look at them. Then choose whichever one looks nice to you. In the end, you are the one that will be seeing your iPhone everyday not any of us here.... ;)

…i only got the white because it was cheap.
????? How does color influence the cost of the iPhone?

AFAIK, Apple charges the same price for the iPhone regardless of which color you choose. Unless you mean that Apple only had a white front iPhone in a lower capacity or earlier model (the only thing that would make it cheaper) at the time you wanted to buy?

No, i meant it was going cheap on avforums.com, someone was selling their upgrade phone for a very good price, so i bought it.

I've heard this argument many, many, many times before (since the 5s came out). And I still highly disagree with it.

If we applied this argument to real life then there should be zero problems ordering a gray car, or a gray suite, or anything else that is supposed to be gray and receiving solid black for it - or ordering black and getting light gray!

I understand that this is the "commonly accepted" interpretation but it's a BS one.

Having black tires on my car does not make my car black.

Oh. And Apple refers to the phone as Space Gray/Black. Not Black/Black.
I don't think you understand what I mean, so let me explain it to you one more time. OP referred to space gray as black and referred to the other colors, such as champagne gold, rose gold and silver as white.

YES, there is a difference between gray and black. BUT THEN AGAIN, it's not the point. Laying the phones side to side there's one black and three whites. I now hope you understand, ffs.

No offense here. But if black is your favorite color then why do you seemingly refer to Space Gray as black?

Or again, are you talking about the bezels?

If you mean the bezels I totally get it. But if I line my Black/Slate iPhone 5 up next to my Space Gray/Black iPhone 6s+ there is a VERY serious difference between the two colors. There is no way I would ever call Space Gray black - especially not when right next to a color that actually IS black.

Man, no shitt he's talking about the bezel color.

What do you do most, videos YouTube then I vote black. More e-mail and blogs, then white. I tend to alternate, but this time got black to replace black 6 plus.i like the fact that when off whole thing looks like screen. I don't care for the black line outlining screen on white face.

Use black background for the app screens, fish tail black background on open screen. The apps really pop out with black background.

I asked OP if he was referring to the front panels. OP has yet to respond to that question.

But based on front panel color, yes. But if we are going to discuss the color of the casing then you can try and explain it to me until time ends and I will not relent from my position that gray is not black.

OP didn't say that when I asked. OP has been back in the thread. So, I have to assume OP is deliberately not responding.

And how you can infer OP is speaking about bezels from this statement
Black versus white iPhone 6S Plus - what's better?
I don't know. OP doesn't mention bezels once!

I agree. I love my Rose gold and I love the gold iPhones. But why oh why couldn't they have dyed the antenna lines to blend better? I want to find whoever was responsible for that decision and give them my best grumpy mom scolding!

They couldn't be bothered to dye the plastic the right colour, in much the same way that they couldn't be bothered to get the white home buttons to match the front. My 6+ had a strange cheap-looking white home button, and my 6S+ is the same. The white doesn't match the creamy white of the casing.

I have to agree here. I typically alternative, although since I had white/silver iPhone's since the 4, I decided to switch it up with the 6 and 6s and go with space gray. But ultimately it's up to personal preference. Go to your local Apple Store and look at each of the colors in person and decide.

Isn't the id ring the color of the aluminum back?

I meant the actual button, not the ring around it. The plastic button underneath the sapphire glass is a different shade of white to the front casing.

Had a white iPhone 4 and 5. I was continue with white with the 6s but I saw the space gray model and I was rather captivated by the near seamlessness of the black bezel and the display. Especially with the new live photo wallpaper of the fish. After playing around with it I decided the UI and the hardware worked better together with the black bezel. When I tried out the silver model, it felt very much like a toy. Very cheap.

There is no black or white answer to this question.
:)

That's true.

Some will say the white face is distracting for viewing video. Up until the 5s model I also thought this would be the case. Then I decided to go with the white on the 5S model and was surprised. I prefer how text appears on the white and videos appear just as nice as the black. I do not find it distracting at all. And, I watch my share of videos and clips. I have televisions in my home with white walls behind them....I don't find those distracting either while watching

Well since there are no black or white iPhones, I think it's pretty obvious he's talking about the bezels man.
