I've got $10 that says Tablets are far more likely to be around in five years than Blackberry, the company, in any way shape or form.
CEOs pretty much have to paint the most positive, upbeat view of their company's prospects when making public statements. But this one seems to reach a new high for sheer head-in-the-sand willful blindness.
"Tech CEOs say the darndest things"
Take the poll - will you buy a Tablet in another 5 years?
Personally, no. I rarely use my current one and I now see that it was a waste of money.
Tablets aren't for me. I'm a big fan of the physical QWERTY keyboard on my devices, with the exception of my phone. So no.
Well, if anyone knows about irrelevancy, it's BlackBerry.
Online poll on that news page...
The only thing I can see that will kill the tablet are fold/roll up display technologies that allow 8-10" viewing areas on pocket size devices.
People by in large are not going to reverse course and swap their tablets for notebook computers.
I think it's more likely that BlackBerry will be dead within 5 years.
Interesting he said what he said. I probably will buy another tablet 5 years from now, although I'm absolutely clueless what they are going to be like.
