I recently sold my iPad mini and have just purchased a BlackBerry PlayBook from a relative who has just bought an iPad mini. It cost me £30.

I am purely going to use this for watching films/videos. It got me thinking, is there a better portable media viewer for the money?

For £100 (maybe less) you can get a 64GB model which you can pack full of movies. It has a decent screen and a better audio system than an iPad.

Plus its quirky with all its multitouch gestures!

Forgive my ignorance but how do you get content on the device.

I think there are better media viewers but not for the money you're talking about. To that end, I'd say the playbook is the best cheap media viewer, not the best media viewer period.

I personally really like my iPad for such things but the Kindle Fire is another tablet that is uniquely positioned to be great at media.

Oh yeah, that was money well spent considering those things were $500 to begin with.

The next best one for the price would be a Kindle Fire HD since it has the Dolby audio. But that would cost you a bit more, and really at the same quality as the Playbook.

Isn't there access to the Google Play Store with the Playbook? If so, MX Player or Moboplayer are 2 perfect solutions.
