Just use the recovery DVD. Click CUSTOMIZE when the install screen comes up and you can customize everything.

you could use that...but you can remove excess languages and print drivers my way.

I used an external drive and Time Machine for a similar exercise last weekend.

Worked a treat.

Perform a clean install, and restore your data from your backup.
