Yo,
Recently posted along these lines but still not quite clear.
I have a 2006 BlackBook that up until 2 months ago was my primary/sole machine. Recently got the 2012 MBA 8/256. That said, the BlackBook still ran flawlessly minus heat.

I now want to connect it up to an external monitor (24-27") to serve as my word processor as I do research and write papers. Nothing labor intensive.

questions:
1) Is there a limit to monitor size?
2) Is there a particular aspect of a monitor I need to have to run with this?
3) What wiring will I need for this?

Thanks

1. No, only the resolution is the limit, which is either 1920 x 1200 (DVI) or 1600 x 1200 (VGA). 1, 2

2. No, 16:10, 4:3 and 16:9 monitors should work if you use digital input and output methods (Mini DVI > DVI adapter).

3.
Mini DVI
Mini DVI is a digital common interface on the later G4 12" PowerBook, on Intel iMacs till 2009 and on the white and black pre-Unibody MacBooks and on Intel Mac minis before they changed the design to Unibody.

Mini DVI adapters can be bought online from:

And here is a link to that thread of yours asking almost the same questions.
